Spending New Years with friends at my place for the second year has been so blissful. No cold waiting outside, no lines and never ending champagne. I think I’m going to keep this tradition going for a while.
This year I was honoured to host 20 lovely people at my home, but this time instead of rolling up my sleeves in the kitchen, I let Chef Michael Portigal (formerly Belmont, Das Lokal, Whalesbone, currently Datsun) + Harriet Clunie take over. And did they ever, 5 courses later we were stuffed and guzzling sparkling.
