I like a good bargain. A lot. So when my gal pal Manue asked me to join her to check out the new Saks Fifth Avenue OFF FIFTH at Tanger Outlets on opening day I was there at 9:30 with a coffee in one hand and my credit card in the other. When these ‘off price’ of stores open, they often send the BEST merchandise and we wanted to be the first with our paws on it and it did not disappoint!
Spotted at the OFF 5th store was a plethora of both contemporary and high end brands from all categories; swim, footwear, handbags + leather accessories, sunglasses (OH THE SUNGLASSES), jewelry and even work out gear. They have it all. On the high end designer racks you could see original Hudson’s Bay’s “The Room” tags marked with a big X, and new much more affordable price right under. I spotted big names like Maison Margiela, Missoni, Valentino, Balmain, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Prada and Bottega Veneta.
Then there were a ton on contemporary brands that I adore such as the french Zadig et Voltaire, Rag + Bone, Equipment, Kate Spade, Stella McCartney, Loeffler Randall, Pink Tartan, Diane Von Furstenberg – the list could go on forever. A new addition to my personal knowledge was the presence of the Saks Fifth Avenue label itself that had a range of classic and well priced items in most of the categories.
This is the first Saks OFF 5th in Ottawa, but it won’t be the last. We are going to be blessed with another one opening at Rideau Centre located within Hudson’s Bay’s flagship store scheduled to open in fall 2016. If you haven’t already noticed our downtown Hudson’s Bay store is currently undergoing extensive renovations, adding new visuals, flooring, and natural light. Saks OFF 5TH will utilize 33,000 square feet of the current footprint to build their next store.
Next stop Saks in Toronto, which just opened a couple of weeks ago- happy shopping friends!
